Mersey Beat - Colonel Bagshot's Incredible Bucket Band

Colonel Bagshot were formed in the late 1960's in Liverpool and were originally called 'Colonel Bagshot's Incredible Bucket Band".

They were initially a six piece band which eventually became a four piece with a line-up of:-

Brian Farrell (vocals, guitar, stylophone),

Ken Parry (vocals, guitar, keyboards),

Dave Dover (vocals, bass, keyboard),

Terry McCusker (vocals, drums).

The band released a few singles and one album "Oh What a Lovely War" in 1971 which included their best known song "Six Days War".

They had several record deals, toured Europe and played gigs like the Reading Festival.

Their record from that period (Six Day War) was remixed by DJ Shadow, and also featured in the recent hit-film Phonebooth which starred Colin Farrell.

Brian later went solo and the other guys formed another band called 'Bunny', who went on to support the popular Glam Rock/Pop band, Slade, on their tours.

Kenny Parry later joined the band, Liverpool Express-whom still play to this day. He is also a member of a well-known Country band, Hambone, which also features Brian.

Kenny Parry, from Garston, is one of the most talented musicians on Merseyside, turning his hand to any style he wishes, He is not only a member of Liverpool Express but is also in a country band. His impression of Willie Nelson is uncanny.
