Wk 1 ( 2017-18 ) That Was The Week That Was

He's back home!
Well it's the opening week of the season with all fans thinking the same,
It doesn't really matter how well their team plays just win the first game.
When Saturday night came around the league table looked upside down,
Chelsea had lost at home to Burnley and the leaders were Huddersfield Town.
Arsenal and Liverpool both conceded three as well, Couthino's absence left a hole,
Wayne Rooney made a fairytale return to Everton heading in the winning goal.
Dele Alli certainly provokes players at times but Jonjo Shelvey just lost his head,
With Newcastle still in the game he stamped on his man and was given a 'red'.
Sky rolled up to see Lukaku & co. and Man Utd certainly didn't disappoint them,
He scored once more against West Ham but it's far too soon to call him a 'gem'.

A return to Europe for Merseyside's finest - with high hopes for both blue and red,
Klopp returned to Germany without Coutinho but TAA stepped up to put them ahead.
Everton outclassed their Croat rivals - Rooney backed up by the solid Pickford and Keane,
Hajuk Ultras' planned violence shamed their club  - so very sad to still see such scenes.

Mike Ashley claiming relative poverty over transfers makes the fees seem sweet and sour,
Enter stage left Rafa feeling hard done by - like a Sports Direct worker forced to work zero hours.
