Merseyside Mirth Makers - Al Brown

Al Brown

With a career lasting over 50 years that has taken him to the far flung corners of the Globe, Al has entertained British and American forces in The Middle East, Bosnia, Northern Ireland, The Falkland Islands and in the jungles of Belize. He has made two successful tours of the Middle East appearing in Major venues in Dubai, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.
The former bargeman and scaffolder had his first television break in 1986 when he appeared on British Televisions 'New Faces'.

He has twice won an award for top comedian, not bad for a lad who lived near to Everton F.C.'s Goodison Park ground in Walton when father of a young Claire Sweeney but unfortunately the marriage ended in divorce when Claire was only four years old.
As well as performing on the UK northern club circuit he has spent the past twenty years working for the World's Major Cruise lines.
P&O Cruises, Princess, Cunard, Holland America, Celebrity, Seabourn, Fred Olsen, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean and Saga Cruises have all employed his services.
However, cruising is not all glamour, as Al found out when in September 2004 he was on the deck of the Van Gogh when it collided with an 80,000 tonne tanker in thick fog off Gibraltar before he was flown to Morocco with other shaken passengers after the collision.

Al moved to Ainsdale and his Act is squeaky clean and is based on observations of every day life. As Al says, "I’m an Observationist not a Comedian!"
