Feeling Blue?

The Liverpool Echo's football voice Dave 'Prenno' Prentice has declared "This is quite possibly the worst time in history to have been born, not manufactured, an Evertonian".
All I can say Dave is you are getting too embroiled in the knee jerk reaction of social media.
Of course the performance on Saturday against Millwall wasn't acceptable but I'd still have it over any game under Sam Allardyce's stewardship.
Behind the result lies some element of truth that may be forgotten : -
Richarlison was offered little protection on the night.
The conditions were atrocious bringing the game more down to our opponents level.
We should have had a penalty awarded when the shirt was being pulled off the back of Michael Keane by Hutchinson at a corner kick in the first half .
One of their goals was a handball offence clearly seen by all in the ground apart from the official in charge who, if he had used common sense, could have viewed the screen, consulted with his asssistant and disallowed it.
But let's not talk about any of this - just put more pressure on the manager!
Digne has been castigated for giving free kicks away but they were hardly 'fouls' given the conditions and the fact it was a hard fought cup tie. Millwall were playing for free kicks as their best means of attack and the referee was too lenient.
Having watched Everton for quite a long time I can assure you that there have been worse periods in our history which most long serving Evertonians will remember.
We are 3 points off a 7th place at present, probably where we expected to be before the start of the season. Only 5 Premier League teams have definitely made it to the 5th round draw and it is extremely likely Chelsea, Man Utd or Man City will go on to win the trophy anyway.
We will get over Saturday and look at the bigger picture as this will be like turning an ocean liner full circle - it will not happen quickly but it will happen and we will enjoy better times.
