Week 42 That Was The Week That Was

Jurgen Klopp's first trophy since the 2012 German double with Borussia Dortmund
Well it was a lacklustre Champions League Final in which nobody played that well
If this was a showcase for the English Premier League, well you couldn't really tell.
Recovered Harry Kane and Bobby Firmino failed to have any influence on the game
While their influential partners, Mo Salah and Dele Alli, were more or less the same.
When you analyse the game it was in fact a microcosm of Liverpool's season overall.
Outplayed for long periods, were fortune with decisions, but in the end walked tall.
For Klopp it was the moment to cast off the mantle of 'the man who was nearly there'.
As it was Bill Shankly who coined the phrase: "First is first and second is nowhere."
750k thronged the streets of Liverpool in the sunshine to welcome their heroes home.
But for Pochettino and his defeated Spurs army their is plenty for them to bemoan.
England began their game with a midfield that was at best average and that's a shame.
Maguire and Stones in defence were quite awful,  there was only Pickford on a game.
