Their doo-wop-inspired wonky pop gathered glowing national press as they teamed up with Bill Ryder-Jones in the studio and going on tour paid dividends, with live showings and recorded output retaining finesse and fury in equal measure. They supported the 'Big Moon' at Glasgow's King Tuts Wah-Wah Hut, on the 29th of October 2016. Their sprightly enthusiasm, dry self-deprecating sense of humour and togetherness make them a hugely likeable bunch and they collected the cherry on top of their burgeoning reputation with a GIT Award nomination in 2016. They were the 14th most blogged artist of 2016 via The Hype Machine.
On the NME's '100 bands for 2017' list, their meteoric rise had continued when they released in 2017 a few singles and an EP, 'Junk' which helped retain their presence. January 2018 saw the band, now with added member Alex Stephens on keys, getting ready to release their highly-anticipated first album in late 2018. The album had already been written with some songs from years earlier, so it was just a matter of teaching Alex, as he was still new to the band before they took to the stage at LIMF in July 2018. Valentines Day 2019 saw the band celebrate the release of their new video for 'The Original Doo-Wop Spaceman', which was the lead single from the upcoming debut album, 'Sandman' in May 2019. Although much of the album had been recorded in 2018, by the time it was its released, the make up of the band had shifted from its original line-up of Brad on drums, Lew on bass, and Alex on keys with all three no longer part of the set-up. Now the band takes the form of a touring five-piece with only Oliver Taylor remaining as the frontman. Oliver stated that the addition of Alex Stephens, who played keys on the record, had been a catalyst for the music's dreamier, pillow-headed aesthetic. He said, "It naturally softened everything up. We wanted to instil an attitude that was inspired by Pet Sounds and take a calm approach. Instead of struggling through it, we wanted to be a bit more in control. I’d like to think you can listen to it a lot more. It’s not quite so intrusive. It's just more in charge of itself, with the hope of being a little bit more timeless. Me, Brad and Lew had played together for five years, so it was really important for the album to be our album. 'Sandman' will always be a reflection of the earlier incarnation of the band."

Now in a more defined position of writing for himself, 'Trudy' is in a new phase. "It's a bit like take two now," as Oliver puts it. He will remain the frontiersman, striding away into new lands with an equally cinematic score. Now he's going someplace else, somewhere new. "Maybe somewhere where I can understand myself a little bit better."
