G.O.A.T. - Salford City

Ibou Omar Touray was born on the 24th of  December 1994 in Toxteth, Liverpool. He started his career at Everton, having joined the club in 2011 and after progressing through Everton's youth system, he signed his first professional contract at the club in July 2013 but was released by the club in May 2014. Following an unsuccessful trial at Tranmere Rovers he joined Chester the same year but again was released at the end of the season and joined Rhyl. After one season at Rhyl he was released in May 2016 and joined Nantwich Town where he established himself in the starting eleven as a left-back. After making 41 appearances in all competitions, he was awarded the club's Young Player of the Year.

In May 2017, he signed for Salford City making his  debut in the opening game of the season, in a 2–0 loss against Darlington. In his first season at The Peninsula Stadium, he cemented his place as first choice left-back and recorded nine assists, the most out of the squad, as Salford won the National League North. In the summer he signed a one-year contract extension after a very impressive debut season, and in 2018-19 made it back-to-back promotions as the team reached the Football League. The step up didn't faze Touray who surpassed 100 appearances during the 2019-20 season on his way to winning both the Club and Fans' Player of the Year awards. He was also the winner of the North West Football Awards' League Two Player of the Year, and in 2020-21 earned a place in the League Two Team of the Season. It was definitely a proud moment for The Gambian in just his first season in the Football League, having joined the club when they were in the National League North. He had been a key part of the team at left back for three seasons and his game continued to develop too, with the 25-year-old scoring a personal best five goals in 2019-20 in 42 games, and topping the assist charts with eight.

On the 22nd of June 2021, Touray signed a new two-year contract, with he and manager Gary Bowyer citing a connection with Salford's supporters as being key to the new deal. Internationally he has represented The Gambia, making his debut in 2015.
