G.O.A.T. - Solihull Moors

Jamie Osborne was born on the 7th of June 19992 in Solihull, West Midlands  and came through the youth ranks at Hednesford Town in 2008 where he started as a youngster and established himself in the 'Pitmen's' first team in the 2009–10 season, he spent the next 4+12 years there. He then joined Redditch United in 2015 before moving to his hometown club, the newly promoted National League side Solihull Moors for the start of the 2016–2017 season. Before the season started however, he had another trial at Crewe where he scored a brace in the FA Cup second round tie against Luton Town. Although initial bids by Crewe for his signature were turned down, on the 18th of January 2017, Jamie signed a 2.1/2 year deal with the newly promoted League Two side for an undisclosed fee.

However, following a lengthy injury, on the 1st of  December 2017, he rejoined Solihull Moors on a 28-day loan before signing on a permanent deal on the 8th of January 2018, for an undisclosed fee. Jamie said, "I enjoyed my time back with Solihull, and to be honest with you, I couldn’t see me getting valuable minutes back at Grimsby. I did speak to the manager about that, saying I couldn’t see me getting a proper chance and playing central midfield – he had already told the Solihull manager that he wasn't likely to play me central midfield, in a 4-4-2. That narrowed my options, anyway, because I’m a central midfielder, and I know that Russell ( the Grimsby manager ) likes that formation. It wasn’t very likely that he was going to change that formation into a 4-5-1 or a 4-3-3, which is what he would consider to suit me more being in central midfield. I thought that my minutes there were going to be limited, and my chances were going to be a bit limited, too. If that was the case, and it didn’t really seem like the gaffer disagreed with that, I said that I would like to stay at Solihull. That was it, really, and there was nothing more to it."

A fans' favourite for his wizardry in midfield, Jamie Osborne's goals are usually sublime. A skilful box to box midfielder, he is not afraid to put in a tackle when needed, but this has got him a few bookings on occasions. Going forward, he likes to run at defenders, creating chances for the forwards by dribbling and winning free kicks and penalties. He likes to get the ball down and bring the full backs into the game and switch the play. Jamie was named in the National League Team of the Season for 2018/19. At the end of 2019, Jamey signed a new long-term contract with Solihull Moors when he put pen-to-paper on a new contract, extending his stay at the club until June 2022. The creative dynamo, who was heading into his final year of his previous contract, now turns all his attentions to helping Moors build on their successful 2018/19 campaign. He signed the new deal ahead of making his 100th appearance for the Moors against Aldershot Town at the SportNation.bet Stadium. Although injuries have disrupted his rhythm in a Moors shirt, Osborne has 138 appearances and 24 goals to his name.
