'The Wood' are singer Alex Evans and producer/musician Steve Powell. Both are long-term friends of Violette Records and integral to much of their musical output to date.
Steve was producer/guitarist on the 'Red Elastic Band' releases to date, and also recorded 'The Magical World of The Strands', the album.

Jake Woodward on drums,
You may also recognise Alex and Steve from their previous band,' Ark'. They supported 'Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band' at The Kazimier way back in October 2013. They've both been virtually ever-present fixtures in Violette activity since with Steve providing great advice.
Alex's close friend 18-year old Michael Molloy tragically died in 2012 in a coach accident on his way back from Isle
of White’s Bestival which also killed 2 other people. In Memory of Michael,
Alex Evans released the single, 'Rise and Fall', which the two recorded
just weeks before the fatal crash.
Once again in December 2018 they supported 'Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band' who brought their traditional Christmas gig to Grand Central Hall and music blog Getintothis were there to see them. " Second up are 'The Wood', a four piece with the staggeringly talented Alex Evans on vocals.

'The Wood' are currently preparing their first album for release.
The band announced on Twitter in May 2021, " Pleased to announce we will be playing an acoustic set both nights on the @michaelheadtreb shows at the Arts Club in Liverpool, on 16th and 17th July. Saturday is sold out, there are a handful of tickets left for Friday. Hope to see you there."
