Pool Of Sound - DAYZY

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2001, Dayzy moved to Toxteth with his family at five-years-old and is the latest talented musician to come out of Merseyside, producing a healthy range of smooth melodic rap records. He cut his teeth at the youth centres in this area, taking advantage of legendary local community space Toxteth TV to explore his burgeoning creativity. There he experimented with theatre and poetry before deciding to take his musical dreams more seriously. He says, "There were a lot of youth centres around with creative things to do when I was growing up. There was this place called The Catalyst which is basically a place where you can just learn to do music for free. I was there for like two hours a day, every day, just doing music. Another big help was my family. They were all already into music and theatre so it felt natural for me too."

This exciting new rapper, singer, and songwriter is now known for his unique, raw, and melodic sound. His vibe emanates a throwback Hip-Hop mixed with new school style and Afro jazz-influenced creativity, driven by a serious purpose.

After releasing a handful of warm-up singles, which garnered ardent praise and interest from key people in the industry, he is looked set to take things up a notch with the release of his debut EP, ‘Land of Zion,’ in 2024. He said, "This piece of work has been in development for a while and acts as a capsule to expressing my story and how I want the world to understand me and my music." He previewed his 'Land of Zion' EP with a live orchestra at the Liverpool Philharmonic during the Liverpool International Music Festival. Postive reveiws from Radio station to Magazines followed; Dave Monks from BBC Music has classed DAYZY, 'one of the best locally sourced music from Merseyside' and VERSUS magazine has stated DAYZY as, 'One of Liverpool’s most exciting new wave creatives'. Having crafted a signature sound that resonates with a growing fanbase he has caught the attention of influential figures in the industry. His journey from the streets of Toxteth to the cusp of mainstream success is a testament to his talent and determination. Fans have often compared DAYZY to the likes of Mike, Little Simz, Kaytranda and Andre 3000.

Now he has also made a mark with sold-out shows at venues like Metrocola backed by supporting acts such as Slum Village, KRS-ONE, Dele Sosimi, Children of Zeus, and Arrested Development at other notable venues. He has also performed at major festivals like Africa Oye and the Manchester Jazz Festival. Recently he has prepared for a UK mini-tour to share his unique sound with a wider audience.
